“We are extremely proud of the design and construction of the Amway Center…C.T. Hsu + Associates is an outstanding firm and were invaluable to our success.”
The Amway Center
Our firm was the associate architect in charge of the exterior for the Amway Center, one of three state-of-the-art community venues that together represent the largest public building project in Central Florida history. The Amway Center replaced the former Amway Arena and includes approximately 18,500 seats and a variety of suite types as well as restaurants, concessions, bars, locker rooms, dressing rooms, ticket facilities, and retail spaces. The building’s exterior used a modern blend of glass, precast, and metal materials, and features a 20,000 square foot glass entrance atrium facing Church Street; a 10,000 square foot outdoor balcony and a massive LED facade with ever-changing graphics. The project received LEED Gold certification and is the first arenas to earn this classification. The project is AIA Orlando Design Excellence recipient of the 2011 Award of Honor and the Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Journal and SportsBusiness Daily Sports Facility of the Year 2012. The design architect for the Amway Center was Populous.
