They include security with emphasis on anti-terrorism protection measures, sustainability and the ROI that renewable energy sources and sustainable design principles can provide, and quality of life issues, especially for facilities like fire stations that are occupied 24/7.

•   Orange County Fire Station #35 is the first occupied Orange County government building certified through the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System.

•   The Orlando Police Training Facility is part of a three-year $109 million public safety initiative launched by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.

•   The new police headquarters for the City of Port Orange, Fla. is nearly four times larger than the 25-year-old facility it replaces and designed to accommodate future expansion of the police force.
