Lakemont Elementary School

Featured Project: Lakemont Elementary School
Rising construction costs and land shortages prompted Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) to seek out more compact school designs for its $1.97 billion plan to renovate and replace 136 educational facilities. Ranking at the top is C.T. Hsu + Associates’ new urban elementary school prototype. Lakemont Elementary School is the first school in the district to benefit, with a $15 million replacement campus recently constructed on the school’s existing site.

Project Manager

Miguel Botello, AIA, joined the firm in September 2007 as a project manager. Earlier this year, he earned accreditation by the U.S. Green Building Council’s “Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design” (LEED) program.

  • C.T. Hsu + Associates earned top honors in two categories at the statewide Florida Educational Facilities Planners’ Association’s 2008 Architectural Showcase earlier this year.
  • Construction has begun on a new 100,000 SF joint-use facility for Valencia Community College and the University of Central Florida.
  • C.T. Hsu + Associates donated its architectural services and $25,000 in funding to create Florida’s first medical and dental primary care clinic for the developmentally disabled.
  • The firm has designed a new store prototype for Goodwill Industries.

  • The Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC) honored Firm President C.T. Hsu, FAIA, with its 2008 Chairman’s Award that annually recognizes a long term contributor to the region’s economic development goals. 
  • The Florida Economic Development Council (FEDC) selected C.T. Hsu, FAIA, as its District 6 Volunteer of the Year. 
  • Robert W. White, AIA, has joined the firm as a senior project manager. 
  • Carlo Giammattei and Taren Sienkiewicz have joined the firm as intern architects.  Wanda Javaheri joined the firm in April as office manager and executive assistant to the president.
