GIVE KIDS THE WORLD VILLAGE TOWNE HALL PROJECT BREAKS GROUND
ORLANDO, FL (March 20, 2014) – C.T. Hsu + Associates’ C.T. Hsu, FAIA and Rene Alvarez, AIA joined Give Kids The World’s staff as well as many of their generous friends for a special ceremony on March 7, 2014 celebrating the groundbreaking of the new Towne Hall Building, designed by C.T. Hsu + Associates (CTH+A). Welbro Building Corporation is the construction manager responsible for the construction of the project.
The new 53,000 SF Towne Hall will connect to an existing 5,600 SF dining facility known as the “Gingerbread House”. The ground level of the Towne Hall will include an expanded dining food court and an entertainment multipurpose hall with stage. The upper level will house the administrative offices for Give Kids The World. This themed facility is an important addition to the village as it will increase seating and dining capacities as well as offer a much anticipated indoor venue for group activities during Florida’s inevitable and often sudden weather changes.
March 7th is an important day for Give Kids The World. It is Founder’s Day, which is Give Kids The World’s and Founder Henri Landwirth’s birthday, and it is the day they plan to open this new facility in 2015. The organization’s President, Ms. Pamela Landwirth, expressed that they are excited about breaking ground on the Towne Hall project, and can’t wait to share the progress over the next year as the building takes shape. She also expressed that this glorious day would not have been possible without the help of their treasured partners.
“So much of what we do as a firm goes towards strengthening Central Florida’s communities, ensuring children are cared for and given the opportunity to grow. We were thrilled to design this facility and look forward to helping Give Kids The World during the construction phase of the project”, said C.T. Hsu, FAIA, LEED AP, President of C.T. Hsu + Associates.
