THE INTERNATIONAL PARKING INSTITUTE PRESENTS C.T. HSU + ASSOCIATES WITH THE AWARD OF EXCELLENCE FOR THE GEICO GARAGE
ORLANDO, Fla. (June 21, 2012) – The International Parking Institute (IPI) presented C.T. Hsu + Associates with the Award of Excellence in Architectural Achievement for the Geico Garage in downtown Orlando. The team was presented the award at the 2012 International Parking Institutes’ Conference and Expo in Phoenix, Arizona on June 12, 2012. CTH+A was one of team members presented with this award for the team’s design/construction work. The other team members recognized included: PCL Construction Services, Walker Parking Consultants, Orlando Magic, and the City of Orlando.
The International Parking Institute was established in 1962, and has been the world's leading voice of the parking industry, providing leadership, training, professional development, and invaluable resources to parking and transportation professionals in North America and around the world.
This is the second award presented to the team for this LEED Gold certified, multi-level, parking structure that serves the Amway Center. The project previously received an Award of Merit from the Orlando Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Orlando) recognizing the quality of the building design.
CTH+A was the lead architect on the $30 million Geico Parking Garage design build project. The facility includes 1,876 spaces, a helicopter landing spot, a climate-controlled elevated pedestrian bridge to the Amway Center, and an energy-efficient lighting system.
