CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON LAKEMONT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Replacement Campus Features New Urban Prototype Design
ORLANDO, Fla. (June 29, 2007) – C.T. Hsu + Associates announced today that construction has begun on the replacement campus for Lakemont Elementary School being constructed on the existing site located at 901 North Lakemont Avenue in Winter Park, Fla.
The firm’s design uses a new urban prototype with a tight footprint. The replacement campus will consist of a two-story building housing administration, classrooms, art and music rooms as well as a kitchen, and multi-purpose and dining areas. Also included are a parking lot, bus loop, new play fields and outdoor activity areas, and site utilities.
During construction, Lakemont students will be relocated to the former Audubon Park Elementary School on Falcon Drive. The new campus is expected to be ready for the start of the 2008-09 school year.
C.T. Hsu + Associates is serving as the architect/engineer firm. The construction management firm is Wharton-Smith, Inc.
